Walk into Town Square this month and you'll find two full storefronts where, a year ago, there were two closed ones. Peavine Tavern shut down in the fall of 2024. Gambi's and The Bones Bar, next door, closed not long after. For a stretch, Somersett's dining strip had a gap right at its center, the kind of empty storefront a neighborhood notices every time it drives past.
That gap is gone now, and the story of how it filled in says more about Town Center's next few years than either restaurant's menu does.
Two Storefronts, One Name Behind the Papering
Pine Ridge Tavern opened on July 8, 2025, in the space Peavine Tavern left behind. Owner Steve Uricchio, who runs it with his wife Stephanie, describes the food as "upscale pub cuisine": pizza, salads, burgers and sandwiches, with an emphasis on elevated appetizers. The detail that matters more than the menu is where the Uricchios live. They live in Somersett, about two miles from the restaurant's front door.
The Uricchios didn't stop at one restaurant. They took the second empty space, the old Gambi's and Bones Bar unit, and opened Stellar's Lounge & Grill there as well. Two openings on the same short stretch of Town Square Way, under the same ownership, inside of about a year.
Both restaurants operate under BDS Town Square Reno LLC, which Steve owns alongside two Las Vegas-based partners, Bruce Familian and David Nolan. Steve has a long restaurant background. He opened his first restaurant in Bakersfield in 1995 and has opened more than 25 since, most of them at casinos across the western United States.
The Restaurant That Took Ten Months Longer Than Planned
When Pine Ridge Tavern opened in July 2025, the plan for its sister location was already public. Stellar's was described as a more formal dining room: continental cuisine, international fusion flavors, an expanded wine list, aiming to open by September 2025.
September 2025 came and went without an opening. The space didn't open until roughly ten months after that original target, and when it finally did, in the summer of 2026, the concept on the ground wasn't quite the one that had been announced. Stellar's Lounge & Grill's own description now leads with "an elevated gaming experience," paired with handcrafted cocktails and a stylish, lounge-forward atmosphere built for date nights and after-work unwinding. The expanded wine list survived the transition. The continental, international-fusion framing didn't make it into the final pitch.
For a resident who read about Stellar's back when Pine Ridge Tavern first opened and filed away "formal dining coming next door," what actually opened is a different kind of room. That's not a criticism of either restaurant. It's a useful thing to know before you show up expecting a white-tablecloth dinner and find a cocktail lounge with games instead.
Two Restaurants, Two Different Rooms
Pine Ridge Tavern and Stellar's Lounge & Grill share ownership but describe themselves differently. Pine Ridge Tavern presents itself as elevated pub cuisine with a full bar of craft beers, wines and cocktails, a fit for wrapping up a round on the course or a casual night out with family. Stellar's presents itself as the more refined destination of the two, with an elevated gaming experience, signature cocktails and an expanded wine selection, and its own page lists daily hours of 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
That gives Town Center two distinct evenings out from one ownership group. One is a relaxed tavern table. The other is a lounge set up for a date night, a celebration with friends or an after-work drink.
What Didn't Change While the Signs Did
Not everything on that stretch of Town Square Way turned over. Sakana Sushi Bar & Restaurant, run by owner Terry Lee out of Town Square Way #112, kept serving through the entire changeover next door. It's the kind of anchor tenant whose steadiness only becomes visible once you notice how much has changed around it.
The same is true of what happens outside any single restaurant's doors. The Gathering Bar, inside the Club at Town Center, runs a weekly Happy Hour staffed by resident volunteers, open most Thursdays through Saturdays starting at 4 p.m. It isn't tied to Pine Ridge Tavern's lease or Stellar's opening timeline. It ran before either restaurant existed in its current form and it will keep running regardless of how either one performs.
The Club itself, a 24,000-square-foot, $9 million facility that also anchors the Canyon Nine par-3 course and Somersett's roughly 27 miles of hiking and biking trails, sets the fall calendar independent of the restaurant turnover next door. On Saturday, October 3, the Club is hosting a Beer Tasting with Slieve Brewing & Distillery from 7 to 9 p.m., five beer tastings plus a surprise spirit, charcuterie and trivia, tickets at $30 per person with limited space. The same day carries the neighborhood's final Community-Wide Garage Sale of 2026, running 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., the last chance this year to walk driveways across the community before the season turns.
Just yesterday, the Fall MOG brought live music from Gwen in Doubt with Tamara McLean to the first hole of Canyon Nine, alongside food trucks, a reminder that Somersett's calendar of gathering points runs on its own rhythm regardless of which storefront currently holds the lease two doors down.
If You're Deciding Which One to Try First
If you want the restaurant with the longer track record in the neighborhood, that's Pine Ridge Tavern, open a little over a year now with the pub menu Steve Uricchio built the concept around from day one. If you're curious about the newer space and came in expecting the continental dining room that was originally announced, know going in that what opened is a cocktail lounge with an emphasis on gaming instead.
Either way, Town Square Way now has two restaurants from one ownership group, both open a few doors apart at 7665 Town Square Lane.
